Moving mobile voice traffic to Ethernet-based backhaul networks

A variety of solutions aimed at enabling voice traffic to run over a carrier Ethernet network are now available. In this white paper, we look at the rise of Ethernet backhaul and the factors driving the push toward moving voice and video onto those networks. We also explore the options available to support synchronization for Ethernet networks, including the unique requirements each option is tailored to address. We compare synchronization methods and interworking options.

We will look at the benefits that network operators can obtain by moving even more traffic, including business and residential services, onto the same Ethernet infrastructure that supports wireless backhaul.
